Genoa Loop Hikes

One huge benefit of our house in the old town district of Genoa is that it’s a great launching point for hiking in the Sierras.  My favorite hike is starting from our front door and executing the Genoa Loop starting at the Eagle Ridge reservoir and ending at the Carson Street reservoir.  The loop from our front door is just over 10 miles with about 1600′ differential elevation gain (2200′ elevation gain if one counts the ups and downs).  My first time doing it last year was about 4;30.  My best time this year was about 3:40.  The dogs love it.  My favorite weekends are when I can do the hike twice, once on Saturday and once on Sunday.  I did this hike 19 times in 2023 for the months I was in Genoa.  I consider this a major part of my efforts to stay fit.
