Puppy Mission – April 2011

One of my post-retirement jobs I am considering is that of charter pilot and photographer for missions to pick-up new puppies.  The Clark’s gave me a chance to start as a volunteer.  We completed our mission yesterday to pick up their new Bernese Mountain Dog in La Grande, OR and it seemed to work out pretty well.  It certainly was rewarding.

Originally, the plan was just to view the puppies to help select which one.  But when I arrived Sheree told me the breeder said we could pick up the puppy that day.  So the mission took on even more importance.  They hadn’t seen a picture in 2 weeks of their puppy.  Interestingly, they chose a box to carry it.  However, when we arrived it was clear the puppy was much too large.
